Kris Stofey

Kris Stofey

Director of Tennis

In the mid 70s, Kris played on a 5.0 USTA Michelob Tennis Team, (now called USTA League Tennis), having played USTA Tournaments in prior years. Following two serious auto accidents in 1978, she decided to concentrate on teaching & coaching tennis, and has continued to do so for the past 30 years. In the early 80s, Kris coached the Midwest Junior Davis Cup and Bonnie Bell Teams, while teaching at three different indoor clubs. Her Washington Court 14s Advanced Jr. Team Tennis won the USTA Tennis Championships in Indianapolis in 1997, and she has had many teams qualify over the following years.

Many of her junior students achieved USTA Sectional and some National Rankings.  Many of which competed in the Ohio High School Boys and Girls State Tournament, including several who have gone on to win the Ohio High School Boys State Championship. Some of Kris’ students received Division I Scholarships, while many played Division II and III College Tennis. Three of her students in the late 80s played semi-professional tennis on the Men’s USTA Circuit and on the Men’s Canadian Professional Circuit.

Currently, Kris is Director of the Jr. Clinic program and Jr. Team tennis. She is USPTA certified and also runs team clinics and coaches tennis leagues. While Kris has enjoyed a productive career working with Elite Juniors, she still loves working with young juniors and adults-regardless of their ability or level of play. You might say she just loves teaching tennis–PERIOD!
